Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago has disclosed that his administration will be sponsoring students who scored grade D in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) results.Mandago said the students will be sponsored to acquire masonry and carpentry skills to various vocational and technical training institutions within the county.Speaking in Turbo sub-county on Saturday, Mandago noted that the move follows national government's plan to establish housing units across the country. The Jubilee allied governor said the project will see 2,000 housing units set up in Uasin Gishu."I have a plan to have masons ready by the time this project starts," Mandago said."We will not be making economic sense if masons from other regions are assigned projects in Uasin Gishu yet we had time to make our own labor," he added.Mandago's administration is already sponsoring over 1,800 students selected from each of the 30 wards to study various technical courses at the Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) located on the outskirts of Eldoret town.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Uasin Gishu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
