According to Kisii County director of people living with disabilities Joshua Mogendi, the county is yet to address issues affecting people living with disability.

“Our county is currently having few chances for people who are physically challenged,” notes Mogendi.

Speaking on Monday, Mogendi said that his group has already written a letter to the county government complaining of discrimination against people with disability.

“We want fairness and we are happy that the constitution recognize the disabled. All we want for now is to get the disabled community included in the county jobs like any other employees,” said Mogendi.

He added that persons living with disabilities will be vetted to determine those eligible for the county jobs.

Mogendi was addressing journalists in Kisii town during a conference with people with disabilities in the county.
