An MCA wants the county government to step up efforts geared towards fighting malaria.
Tapsagoi Ward Member of the County Assembly Wilson Mutai told the county government through the Department of Health to put extra measures to tackle the rising cases of malaria in the devolved unit.
Mr Mutai said it was important of the department of Health rolls out a programme that involved spraying stagnant water scenes to kill mosquitoe lavaes.
Malaria cases in the county have been on the rise for the last five years, figures from the county Health department indicate.
"We have registered rising cases of malaria," he recently said.
"The department therefore needs to look on measures of helping residents in tackling it. I wish to urge the department of Health in the county to consider the reintroduction of the initiative of getting our houses sprayed to help eradicate malaria."
On the contrary, the County Executive in charge of Health Margaret Chepkwony said that free medical camps would be the key priorities of the county in eradicating non communicable diseases alongside other preventable diseases in the county.
