Nyamira county government has been blamed for prioritising less beneficial projects to the locals and working to befit personal and selfish interests.
Speaking to the journalists in Kisii town, Okong’o Omogeni said that it is shocking that the county has an intention to blanket prime and potential development projects for lesser important projects in the whole county.
“Its ridiculous that intellectual expertise is wanting in Nyamira County to make a realization of persons intending to embrace devolution and make a success of it inside out,” stated omogeni who also asked the county assembly to monitor the county from selfish leaders who want to enrich themselves.
Gachuba Ward representative Andrew Magangi supported O’mogeni’s sentiments saying some unworthy projects are embarrassing to the county residents,”
“At some point, we the MCAs are not consulted on some issues and the Governor of Nyamira have ignored our call for advice to engage on serious and beneficial development projects.
Magangi, who is the deputy speaker of county assembly of Nyamira insisted that there are some cartels surrounding the governor and offering baseless advise on developing Nyamira.
“Some people around the governor whom he seems to embrace more with their thinking are making it hard for the county chief to realize his worthy course,” added Magangi.
According to Magangi, soon or later, electorates might be asking questions over the importance of devolution if it cannot make them feel its fruits when its supposed to.
