Nakuru county Finance Executive Ann Njenga has assured county workers that their July salaries will be disbursed in a week's time.

The Nakuru County Government Workers Union had threatened to have their members down tools if they were not paid their dues.

But speaking to a local newspaper, Njenga denied claims the delay was caused by failure by the county assembly to approve the Sh12.7 billion budget.

"The delay in payments has nothing to do with the budget,We are working to ensure that we pay them in a week time,” she said.
