The County Government of Mombasa has launched a forum that will see challenges communities faces up to the grassroots being solved.Through a meeting that brought together officials from Department of Youth, Gender, Sports and Cultural Affairs, Sub County Administration, County Social Work and other stakeholders, the officers engaged in talks that will see how life challenges among different communities in the county will be identified and be addressed.“We had a nice meeting and successful discussions on how the County Government of Mombasa will reach out to their people up to the grassroots and listen to their pleas. This program has been designed to identify challenges that people of Mombasa face and which some of them have never come to our attention,” Dr. Hellen Nthiga, Director of Youth department in the county told Hivisasa after the meeting on Friday. The forum was organized by I choose Life Africa, an organization which works with governments and civil societies to bring solutions to community problems in health, employment, education, and governance.The organization is seeking to partner with County Departments, Sub County and Ward Administrators of Jomvu and Changamwe to help in sensitization and scaling up of their projects at the grassroots.Participants discussed a variety of issues including HIV prevalence, unemployment among other socioeconomic problems affecting youth in the County and best approaches they can use in solving them.They agreed to form a team with The County Government through the relevant departments and Sub County Administration to implement their projects in the County.
