Police in Ol Kalou have detained a man after having a domestic dispute with his wife on Sunday Evening. The man is believed to have bit his wife on the cheek after the two had gotten into an argument.
According to Nyandarua Central OCPD Wilson Kosgei witnesses were forced to step in after hearing cries from the wife and went on to beat the assailant Njuguna Kagio aged 24.
“Neighbours said the suspect, a father of two children aged five and one year, was very drunk and violent. The man injured his wife severely on the head,” he said as reported by The Star.
Kosgei said this was not Kagio's first assault on his better half. The police manager said investigations discovered that the man had slipped off his duties and had left the weight of bringing up the youngsters to his jobless spouse.
The man is believed to have left his work in the matatu industry and taken to drinking substantially.
The couple was treated at J.M Memorial Hospital and the wife was granted a P3 form while the husband was taken into custody. He will soon be indicted.
This event followed a similar incident where a woman was stabbed in the hand at a bar in Ol Kalou the same evening.
