A couple has offered up their two children on claims that they are unable to care for them. The anonymous couple says they are not able to fend for their two children ages three and nine.
"We are unable to provide for the children because of poverty. We are reaching out to anyone who is ready to take custody of the children," says the father of the children as quoted by The Standard.
According to the couple they can no longer watch their kids suffer with the father yet to collect a three month payment from his former employer.
"My tribulations started in Kisumu where I was working as a waiter. My employer refused to pay us for three months after which I went to Kitale to look for employment,” says the father who is in his 30s.
"These are innocent human beings …. We are urging any person willing to take care of them to come and collect them," says the father whose family lives in a single room at Tuwan trading centre.
It is believed that the mother came up with the idea after witnessing her children sleep without food on several occasions.
"I convinced my husband to buy into my idea to end the suffering. We are unable to feed them and I do not want to see them continue to suffer," she says.
