A couple was on Tuesday arraigned before a Nakuru court over robbery with violence.
Charles Nduko, together with his wife Gladys Wangare, appeared before Chief Magistrate Burudi Kalo for allegedly jointly with others not before court breaking into Ruth Nyawera's electronic store in Njoro sub-county on July 25 where they stole Sh120,000 and other valuables.
The two, who had been in hiding since the incident took palce and were said to have been armed with a pistol, clubs and metallic weapons during the incident, denied the charges.
According to the police, the accused persons relocated from Njoro after realizing the police were on their trail.
The accused persons who are parents of four kids were arrested by police at Nakuru town after the the complainant reported the matter at Njoro police station.
Application by the prosecution side to have the accused persons remanded for two weeks was denied by court on grounds that they have not shown any progress in their investigation and any need to remand the two.
Chief Magistrate Burudi Kalo in his ruling released the accused persons saying they have a constitutional right to bond. The two were released on a bond of Sh800,000 or an alternative cash bail of Sh400,000.
"The accused persons being parents to school going children they cannot be denied bond because it is their constructional right," He said.
The matter was slated for mention on August 15 for directions.
