A man set his house on fire after a domestic row with his wife in Kiambiu slums in Buru Buru.

The fire spread burning more than 175 houses in the slum area.

Mr Otieno only known by a single name had a quarrel with his wife and even contemplated committing murder by burning himself.

According to one of the neighbors Anthony Wachira they did not take seriously Mr Otieno's words and a few minutes later they had a blast from his house followed by a huge fire.

The police have, however, confirmed that no life was lost.
