Industrial Court Judge Justice Maureen Onyango gave the orders following a petition filed by former CEC members who were recently sent packing by Governor Jack Ranguma.

The court ordered that Governor Ranguma cannot take the names of the new CECs for approval to the assembly until the matter is determined.

The court also ordered that all the 4 petitions be consolidated and both parties to file their submissions within 10 days and the respondents too within 10 days of service.

Justice Onyango also ordered county government to allow the CECs who were sacked access to their offices so that they can pick their documents.

Advocate Victor Obondi, representing one of the petitioners Eng Vincent Kodera, said they also want the court to reinstate their clients.

Obondi said the sacking was null and void and against the constitution. He said they also want the sacked CECs paid the full salary of their remaining tenure until 2017.

The respondents Governor Ranguma, is represented by Peter Wanyama, while the county Government is represented by PJ Otieno. The case continues on March 12.
