The High court in Malindi has dismissed an application by former Lamu Governor Issa Timamy to add more seals to ballot boxes used in the August 8 Lamu gubernatorial election.

Justice Dora Chepkwony also dismissed another application to allow former county boss to access KIEMS kits to retrieve information.

Timamy argued that the KIEMS kits will help in the election petition.

The former county chief filed a petition challenging the victory of governor Fahim Twaha of Jubilee party.

Timamy said IEBC rigged the election in favour of Twaha, and wants the court to nullify his victory and order the electoral body to conduct fresh elections.

The case will be heard on November 13.
