A man who was jailed for stealing cabbage worth Sh40 in Koibatek, Baringo county, has been freed.

Robert Kihara was caught stealing from the Mercy Mission Hospital vegetable garden on June 21, 2017. He was arraigned in court on June 22, and pleaded guilty to the charges.

The court imprisoned him for two months after he failed to raise a fine of Sh10,000.

Kihara however spent six days in the prion before being freed, Tuesday June 27.

This is after media personality Saddique Shaban rallied Kenyans online to raise the funds to help bail out Kihara.

The well-wishers managed to raise the required money that saw Kihara released yesterday.
