Garissa Town MP Aden Duale has been ordered to respond to an election petition filed by former Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim.
Duale has been orderd to give a responce within seven days.
Election Court Judge Hedwig On'gundi on Wednesday ordered the National Assembly Majority leader and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to respond to the petitioner's case.
Through lawyer Chahilu Edwin, Maalim filed an election petition last month seeking to overturn the National Assembly Majority Leader's win claiming that the election was flawed with irregularities.
Maalim claimed that Duale's supporters were allowed to vote more than twice. He further alleged that the IEBC officials did not mark the voters with indelible ink after they were presented with IDs during voting.
