The warrant was issued after Dedan Omondi, Paul Okilo, James Onwae and Aggrey Ripodi failed to appear before the court for the second time as ordered by the magisterial.

Issuing the arrest warrant, Maseno resident magistrate Philip Oilo said that, the prosecution had proved that the four had been issued with notices requiring them to appear in court.

"It is clear that we are looking at contempt of court here, therefore am issuing an arrest warrant as required by the law in such cases," said Oilo.

Oilo said that failure to attend court is something that should be discouraged from the society and those found guilty of the offence should be punished to serve as an example to the rest.

The four are facing charges of brewing illicit liquor and conducting business without a permit.

The four accused person only appeared before the court to take their pleas over three weeks ago, and have never honourned court summons.

They were arrested three weeks in Emabungo village , Maseno following a crack down on illicit liqour that is ongoing in the area.
