The High Court in Nairobi issued warrants of arrest against Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) officials, Tuesday.

This is after they failed to present themselves in Court, for hearings.

Justice Wasilwa Hellen ruled that the doctors had failed to appear in Court for sentencing for contempt of Court, and asked Kilimani OCS Ronald Ngau to enforce the orders.

The Employment and Labour Relations Court had in December 13, 2016 declared the doctors' strike illegal and asked them to resume duty immediately.

They however vowed not to end the strike which started December 5, 2016, until government implements a 300 per cent salary hike as proposed by an agreement signed in 2013.
