IG Joseph Boinnet has been ordered by the High Court to execute a warrant of arrest for Interior Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho.
Justice George Odunga issued the order on Thursday demanding Kibicho’s arrest to explain why he acted in contempt of a court order.
Odunga now wants Boinnet to present Kibicho in court on November 28 since according to him the Central police station OCPD has failed to act on a previous arrest warrant.
According to the judge, the released warrant of arrest must be returned to court on the material day to confirm compliance.
On October 13, a similar warrant for the PS’s arrest was released after Kibicho refused to comply with a court order (dated December 5, 2015) compelling him to pay a Nyayo House torture victim Sh2,647,019.
