Troubled Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka FC on Wednesday got a reprieve after a Kisumu Court ordered for their inclusion in the KPL 2017 fixtures.
The court's ruling came after three fans lodged a complain at the court demanding the inclusion of the two sides whose Premier League status has been a hotly contested issue between the Kenya Premier League and Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
Earlier, KPL had defied FKF's decision to relegate the two sides and publish the league fixtures with two sides included.
However, it was a move that angered the Nick Mwendwa-led FKF and vowed to take disciplinary action against KPL's top officials including CEO Jack Oguda.
When two bodies appeared before the Sports Disputes Tribunal last week, they were asked to resolve their diffrences amicably and publish the fixtures for the next season immediately.
However, it is the court's ruling that may not go well with FKF that may further delay the kick-off date for the much-awaited 2017 season.
