[Photo/barakafm.org]A Mombasa court has ordered the reopening of popular club in Nyali closed by police early this year.Shama Bar and Restaurant was closed on allegations of human trafficking, pimping, and extortion. The Mombasa Resident Magistrate court ordered the reopening of the entertainment joint after the prosecution withdrew the charges against the club owner Shama Javaid Deen.Shama was arrested alongside her husband Zubeir Javaid Deen and their daughter Zeba Zubair Javaid. They had been charged with trafficking and recruiting 3 Indian and 7 Nepalese women into prostitution at the restaurant.Judge Lilian Lewa ordered the police to restore the club's licence and release the Nepalese women and return their passports which they had confiscated."I direct the police to release the licence to the club owners to enable them resume operations. They should also release the women," ordered judge Lewa on Tuesday. This followed a petition by Shama family to order the reopening of the club, which they said was their only source of livelihood."We have lost a lot since the club was closed two weeks ago, yet we have to pay Sh200,000 in rent every month," they said through lawyer Cliff Ombeta.
