Ali Adan Ali and his co-accused, Bedan Murage, on Thursday denied trafficking the ivory worth Sh2 million before Naivasha resident magistrate Salome Muchungi.

The prosecution told the court that the elephant ivory, weighing 40kg, was nabbed at Magumu area of neighbouring Nyandarua County.

The court heard that the suspects, jointly with others still at large, were found on September 17 transporting eight pieces of elephant ivory, without permission from the Kenya Wildlife Service.

The transportation, which was from Laikipia to Nairobi, was curbed by police on patrol at the Magumu roadblock, in a Nissan salon car, the prosecution said.

The case will be heard on November 10 this year.
