A Kiambu court is today set to make a ruling on whether to release on bail Anne Wanyaro, a murder suspect who is connected to the killing of Magu’s family.
On Wednesday, the suspect who is a pastor and linked to the murder of Paul Magu, his wife and three children denied the charge.
She was arraigned before Kiambu Chief Magistrate John Oyiego charged with persuading Paul Magu to kill himself in Makongeni, Thika between November 23 and 26 last year.
The suspect denied the charge and with her lawyer requesting the court to release her on bail.
The suspect’s lawyer, Waithera Mwangi accused police investigating the matter of laxity saying they have taken 39 days to investigate the murder while her client is in custody.
The homicide officer Gilbert Kitalia investigating the matter asked the court to hold the suspect in custody as investigations continue.
He argued that the suspect could hamper the ongoing investigation if released on bail.
“I want to ask the honourable court to continue holding the suspect as we finalised our investigations," he said.
The bodies of Magu’s children, Allen, Tiffany and Ryan were found mutilated weeks after they were announced missing.
Magus’s wife Lydia was found murdered near Paradise Lost along Kiambu road days after while her husband Paul Magu who killed after he jumped in front of a bus along the Thika-Garissa highway.
