A Member of the National Assembly from Kisii County has reminded members of the public that a court ruling passed last year did not scrap CDF kitty, instead it gave parliament a window to amend the CDF Act in line with the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Nyaribari Masaba MP, Elijah Moindi observed that the court ruling offered an opportunity to members of the public to contribute their views to either endorse the retention of the kitty, or have it scrapped altogether.

Speaking in Kisii town during a CDF Management Board public hearing on the way forward on CDF kitty, Moindi challenged members of the public to come out and air their views and recommendations on the future of the kitty before MPs propose amendments to the CDF Act to be in line with the new constitutional dispensation in the country.

"I am reminding Kenyans that they were given a chance by the court of law to give their views on the CDF kitty before MPs subject the CDF Act to amendments to meet the new constitutional requirements,” stated Moindi

The legislator warned members of the public against being swayed by political interests and partisan politics, instead look at the CDF kitty as their future tool of development and socio-economic transformation.
