This is after the Council of Governors filed a suit, requesting the Court to issue warrant of arrest against the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union (KMPDU) officials, over the ongoing strike.

Doctors declined to end the nationwide strike which commenced on December 5th, after the Court declared it illegal.

During Tuesday's ruling, Justice Hellen Wasilwa ordered KMPDU officials to appear in Court December 22, 2016, for sentencing.

She said the officials were aware of the Court orders but they blatantly disobeyed them. She said the Court would not condone disobedience of the law.

Justice Wasilwa warned that the Court would not hesitate to punish offenders who blatantly disobey Court orders.

Doctors officials however vowed not to end the strike despite the Court order, until their 300 per cent salary hike is implemented.
