A woman shocked a Nairobi court after she confessed that she killed her nine months old baby boy and cremated his body.

The emotionless woman said she decided to burn the body because she didn't have money to conduct a funeral.

The blow to blow account of the incident as narrated by the prosecutor sent the court into a shock.

The prosecutor said the accused, Margret Nduta, killed her son, then torched his body with clothes and watched the body burn.

“She sat watching the body of her son burn,” the prosecutor said.

When police arrived she did not mind them nor run away, the court was told.

Magistrate Francis Andayi directed that she be taken for a mental examination.
