The High Court has temporarily halted the voter registrar audit by IEBC that began on December 16.

The petition was presented in court by the Cord coalition termed the audit illegal. 

KPMG was awarded the tender to conduct the audit.

“The intended audit of the register of voters is clouded with opaqueness, secrecy and lack accountability since no criteria for the audit has been disclosed to ensure the objectives set out in law are realized,” read the petition in part.

Cord was presented by Anthony Oluoch who argued that IEBC had acted maliciously.
