High Court on Monday 17 October suspended the instant traffic fines that were introduced by NTSA targetting minor road offenses.
High Court judge Roselyne Aburili ruled that the new regulations on instant fines introduced by NTSA should be suspended temporarily until the case before the court is heard and ruled.
This is after a matatu trade union moved to court last week to oppose the new regulations that were gazetted on September 23 by NTSA.
In the suit, the Union claimed that the new rules violated the rights of matatu business.
However, Justice Aburili said that the public would have to be shielded from these new rules until the hearing and determination of the case is done.
