The High Court in Kisii as upheld the win of woman representative Janet ong'era.

Judge Anthony Ndung'u dismissed the case filed by a voter Nahashon Akunga challenging Ongera's win. 

Judge said the evidence provided by the petitioner was not enough to nullify the election. 

Mr Akunga was slapped with a Sh 5 million fine. 

In his petition, Mr Akunga argued that the election was marred by irregularities.

Ongera's defence mantained that she was validly elected and urged the judge to throw out the case.

Ong'era was represented by lawyer Okong'o Omogeni. 

In the August 8, 2017 Janet Ong'era accumulated 171,492 votes against Ms Doris Aburi who got 144,973 votes.
