A courtt in Siaya has upheld a life imprisonment sentence to a middle-aged man.
The man was found guilty of defiling a minor.
Judge Aaron Makau delivered the ruling on Thursday morning at the Siaya High Court after finding the appellant George Ongule guilty.
The sentence that was slapped on him after the Judge found enough evidence that he defiled a minor on the May 1, at Nywawara sub location, Gem constituency.
The man had appealed to the judges but the judge did not honour his plea saying the High Court established that the appellant was lawfully convicted to a minimum sentence of life imprisonment and, therefore, cannot interfere with the sentence.
''I have looked at the provided evidence by the witnesses and reviewing the prosecution exhibit, however this court has proved beyond reasonable doubt that the appellant defiled the minor contrary to Section 42 of the Sexual Offences Act,” said the judge in his ruling.
