The MP was charged alongside his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) committee members.

He is alleged to have directed one million shillings to personal use instead of to the Lamu West CDF office.

Mombasa Chief Magistrate Julius Nang’ea warned the MP of possible adverse orders if he continues to threaten court officers and witnesses.

This comes after senior assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Alexander Muteti filed a formal complaint against the MP.

According to Mr Muteti, the MP uttered possibly threatening words to an Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officer after a court session.

"It took the officer by surprise. We shall make an application for the cancellation of the MP's bond if there is no guarantee to witness safety," said Muteti.

The MP apologized to the court through his lawyer Jared Magolo, saying his statements were not aimed at intimidating witnesses.

“It is a matter we can take control of. We will talk to our client, there is no need to worry,” said Magolo.
