Courts should be blamed for the derailed war against corruption.
This is according to the Ethics and Anti- corruption Commission boss Halakhe Waqo.
Mr Waqo said that several court cases were still pending in court because powerful individuals were skipping court procedings.
“EACC officials are doing their work as required by the law but courts in the country should be blamed for increased corruption cases because the accused persons most of politicians have failed to appear in court for proceedings,” he said.
However the CEO said that the agency was dedicated to ensure that it eliminates corruption in the country.
He also asked judges in the country to ensure that cases dont prolong in courts.
“The Judiciary needs to up their game especially in handling corruption cases in our courts. Corruption cases should be taken seriously," he said.
He challenged leaders and other stakeholders to help the agency in ending corruption across the country.
He was speaking in Kisii town on Tuesday.
