A cow that was thought to be 8 months pregnant was discovered to be carrying a live 1.5 metre long snake.
The snake was dicovered after the butchers slaughtering it slit open its belly only for a snake to slither out.
Residents of Kapkong'a village in Keiyo, who had gathered to get a share of the meat scampered to safety when the live snake began crawling towards them. Area chief Joseph Kimosop said that the cow died from stomach complications on Wednesday as reported by the Star.
"They discovered it as they slit the cow’s belly. It was killed as it attempted to crawl out of the carcass," the chief said.
Jonah Tenai, the owner of the cow, said he thought the animal was eight months pregnant. He said that the men who slaughtered it thought that the creature in the cow's belly was an unborn calf.
