Residents lamented that brewers in the area have become so bold that they fear the local administration no more.

“These people here need GSU; they do not recognise the chief or even DC. That is why they beat him (the chief) up,” John Kirui said.

A chief in the area, Samwel Totona was on Saturday attacked by a group of brewers armed with bows and arrows sustaining serious injuries.

“How can a government chief be beaten that way and no serious action has been taken against these people?” Emily Jelagat said.

Nkanatha promised action will be taken against the brewers.

“I have directed area OCPD and all government machinery to go after the culprits. They must learn a lesson,” Nkanatha said on Monday.
