Two people were Thursday morning arrested in Nakuru during a crackdown on illegal liquor.
The two were arrested for operating past the set timelines. The operation was led by Nakuru County deputy commissioner Elmi Shaffi and was targeting Kaptembwa and Rhonda Estates.
More than 4000 litres of molasses were also confiscated from an illegal depot during the operation.
The Deputy County commissioner pledged to work round the clock in efforts to ‘save’ Nakuru West from illegal alcohol. He also promised to continue the operation until all wines and spirits sellers comply with set regulations.
Police officers were also warned not to engage in corrupt practices when enforcing the law.
“The same will apply to administrators who fail to contain the menace within their areas of jurisdiction,” he said.
The two were taken to Kaptembwa Police station waiting prosecution.
