(Photo/Standard)Kisii County education board from January 2018 will start a crackdown on schools operating without meeting the required educational standards. The education board Chairman Henry Onderi on Friday said some schools have violated the set laws to operate.Onderi said schools mostly private have hired unqualified teachers to teach students."We can't allow selfish individuals to operate schools without meeting the set education rules. Such institutions will be closed down and students in such schools are transferred immediately," he said. He urged parents not to take their children for enrollment in any school which they know nothing about."Parents should be careful not to take their children to any school. Some schools lack teaching instruments, qualified teachers who have not registered with TSC," he said.
Onderi added that private schools that want to continue operating in the county must get approval from the ministry of education to avoid frustrations caused when the institutions will be shut down.
