Pregnancy tests have been simplified by a number of home made procedures that require no money or pregnancy test kits.
Apart from sugar, toothpaste, vinegar and baking powder home pregnancy tests, there is urine collection test which does not require a lot but just time for results to show.
According to worldofmoms.com, this home pregnancy test is the simplest and does not required any complex procedure although the clinical test is the most reliable.
What is the procedure for urine collection test?
In this type of test, early morning urine is collected in a jar, put on a flat ground or surface and left to stand for approximately 24 hours. For positive pregnancy results, a thin white layer will be formed on top of the urine. For a negative result, there will be no changes in the urine.
What causes the white layer?
A pregnant woman's urine is a bit different from normal urine regarding color and smell. This is attributed to a pregnancy hormone called Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), which is produced by the body soon after the formation of the placenta. It doubles in amounts on a daily basis for about 11 weeks when they level off.
These hormones normally mix with urine forming a cloudy layer which is the white layer seen on the surface of urine.
