Cracks have emerged in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) after accusations of betrayal.

A section of party leaders in Tharaka-Nithi County are accusing branch Chairman Martin Mugambi of 'betraying' their party leader Raila Odinga.

Led by ODM Chuka-Igambang'ombe constituency Secretary Mutegi Kurunguru said Mugambi disobeyed Raila by asking residents to vote in last week's poll.

"The Chairman betrayed our party and leader Raila Odinga by rallying locals to participate in the October 26 fresh election. He should resign to enable us elect someone who is loyal to the party," Kurunguru said.

Raila had asked his supporters to boycott the poll which he withdrew citing unfair playing ground.

Another official, Gitari Mbui, termed Mugambi a Jubilee mole and asked the party's disciplinary committee to punish him.

The leaders also questioned the credibility of the poll in which President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee Party was declared the winner with 7,483,895 votes.

"Uhuru could not have garnered the votes declared as very few Kenyans voted. It is possible IEBC and Jubilee cooked up the figures," Mbui claimed.
