Political rivalry between Deputy President William Ruto and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi may reignite soon ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta's cabinet appointments.
In an explosive interview with KTN News, Ruto's aide, Farouk Kibet, on Sunday accused Moi of conspiring to with Uhuru's team to disorient Ruto's ambitions.
"We are aware of plans in place to ensure Moi's close confidants are strategically placed within government for ulterior motives," he said.
He further said: "Everyone knows how Davies Chirchir worked hard for our team yet Moi wants to front someone for State House Comptroller but we cannot allow such blackmail."
Prior to August elections, President Uhuru Kenyatta held meeting with KANU leadership where the independence party agreed to back him on grounds that he rewards them with state appointments.
"KANU is supporting Jubilee and we have an MoU. We hall be given cabinet slots once Uhuru is reelected," Moi revealed.
Conspicuously, Ruto always took a swipe at the KANU leadership whenever they shared platform during presidential campaigns.
