A fallout out is looming in the ruling Jubilee party following President Uhuru Kenyatta's final announcement on cabinet positions.
Various leaders from perceived strongholds have come out to express their dissatisfaction with Tharaka-Nithi being among the region complaining of seclusion.
"It is not bad to request something. When it comes to voting we are considered a stronghold and that changes when people are being rewarded," argued governor Muthomi Njuki.
Similarly, in Gusii, a group of Jibilee MPs have questioned the omission of Nyamira from appointments with leaders threatening to quit the ruling party.
"The president was voted overwhelmingly in a region that has been a stronghold for NASA. Apparently, we have been given nothing," said North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko.
His Kitutu Masaba counterpart Shadrack Mose added: "He either rewards us or we chart our own political destiny."
Apparently, Nyamira leaders consider Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i as an outsider despite living in the county for decades.
They now want Uhuru to fill remaining government positions with locals failure to which they may reconsider their support.
