The decision by Raila Odinga to endorse Kalonzo Musyoka for 2022 presidential elections has caused storm within NASA that may lead to separation.
At Machakos on Friday, while responding to Kivutha Kibwana's plea, Raila indicated that he was willing to help Kalonzo.
"Let us first deal with the 2017 issues. When 2022 comes, we shall push for Kalonzo's election," Raila said.
But two legislators allied to Musalia Mudavadi from Western Kenya has dismissed the move insisting that NASA shall from Mudavadi's candidature.
Being a brain child of NASA, they say, Mudavadi deserves to be the flag bearer owing to the fact that his stand has been unquestionable.
"We did not enter into an agreement to support Kalonzo in 2022 and we are fronting Mudavadi," said Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka.
Ayub Suvula of Lugari added: "Mudavadi is a brainchild of NASA and we cannot allow people to short change him this time around. He is the only formidable force."
Having had four unsuccessful attempts on presidency, Raila is expected to exit political stand by 2022.
And within NASA, Mudavadi and Kalonzo are said to be involved in bitter internal rivalry on Raila's succession.
