Mwala Constituency MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka wants the national and the county governments to create more job opportunities for the youths.
Speaking to journalist after addressing locals at Wamuyu trading centre on Thursday, the MP said the number of unemployed youths is getting out of hand.
The lawmaker observed that many youths are languishing in unemployment despite the government assurance to tackle the problem.
“The national and the county government should fast-track their pledge to create more job opportunities for the youths,” he said.
Eng. Musyoka said that in uncontrolled unemployment would be a major setback towards development, and observed that in order for jobs to be created, the governments should encourage more foreign investments.
He also asked the governments to make sure that youths are involved in various development projects, promising to spearhead policies that will ensure the welfare of the youths is catered for.
He at the same time cautioned youths to be wary of politicians who might want to misuse them.
“You (the youth) should stay far way from selfish politicians whose aim is to use you in violence,” he added.
The MP later toured the constituency and inspected various development projects.
