Naivasha Member of Parliament (MP) John Kihagi has urged the county and the national government to create more jobs for the youths.

The MP, who addressed journalists at Naivasha town on Tuesday, lamented over the rising of unemployment rate.

Kihagi said that unemployment is getting out of hand despite the measures being taken by governments.

“The government should create more job opportunities and help reduce rising cases of unemployment,” said Kihagi.

Kihagi added that youths in the area have resulted to social evils for lack of employment adding that there is need for urgent policies on the same.

The lawmaker at the same time urged the private sector to chip in and help address joblessness.

He stated that the public-private sector partnerships will create jobs hence development.  

Meanwhile, the MP urged Nakuru County Government to implement policies that will promote development.

The MP said the county has enough resources that should be used to improve the living standards of the people.

He assured residents of his commitment to provide services through various development projects.
