Kiambu Sub County Deputy Commissioner Nobert Komora has urged youths in the area to keep of crime and instead take part in development.
Speaking at Ndumberi grounds on Wednesday, the Kiambu DCC noted that some youths were being lured into crime, and warned them that law enforcers will not hesitate to arrest young people who engage themselves in criminal activities.
“Our appeal is to the young people to desist from falling prey to crime and instead support development agenda,” he said.
Komora challenged young people to utilize the development funds allocated to them by the government to better their lives.
“Young people should know that crime will never be a solution to the challenges facing them,” he said.
The DCC urged local leaders to chip in and help empower young people to develop, urging them to stop drug abuse, crime and other social evils.
Speaking at the celebrations, Kiambu Youth Minister Michael Waikenda urged youths to form groups and apply for development funds, noting that 80 per cent of youths in Kiambu have benefited from the Uwezo and Biashara Fund.
