Criminals targeting students paying school fees and withdrawing money from Banks within Eldoret have been put on notice.
According to Eldoret West police boss Samuel Mutunga, cases of women conning students are on the rise in the region.
“The con women have been pretending to be officers from various financial institutions and insurance companies offering education grants and loans to con students. Police will be more alert to arrest the culprits to take them to court,” he said.
Mutunga asked students to be more vigilant and report anyone they suspect is a con man or woman for arrests to be made.
“Students are advised not be cheated to give out their money to anyone apart from the bank attendants. Security will be beefed up at all banks across the county to curb any attempt of conning,” he assured.
