An MP has accused some Jubilee leaders of opening a parallel campaign secretariat in Nairobi which he claims is meant to design campaign messages demeaning some senior ruling party leaders.
According to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria the secretariat which he says is located in Runda estate has been opened by people out to block Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid as well as de-campaign leaders supporting Ruto's State House dream.
"Some of my colleagues in Jubilee have set up a secretariat in Runda not to campaign for someone but to fight someone," Kuria said on Sunday in a Facebook post.
"How do you run a secretariat for drawing cartoons? I have been in politics for a long time. Long enough to know that people set up secretariats to support a candidate not to fight another."
Among artworks he claims have so far been published by people working at the secretariat is a cartoon that has gone viral showing Kuria leaking Deputy President William Ruto's foot.
The cartoon, he says, is meant to depict Kuria as Ruto's sycophant.
There are currently internal 'wars' within Jubilee between leaders supporting Ruto's 2022 State House bid against those out to ensure he does not succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
