Jubilee party will now have to race against time to avoid being locked out in fielding candidates in Bonchari and Kitutu Chache North constituencies.

A ruling made by Political Parties Dispute Tribunal ordered the party to also conduct fresh nominations in governorship race after Alfred Nyangweso objected nominations of Chris Obure as flag bearer.

This is the third time President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party is being ordered to conduct fresh nominations in the region.

“It is with this evidence that we rule that nominations were not free and fair. We hereby direct Jubilee party to conduct fresh nominations in the affected areas,” read the ruling.

Among those affected a part from Obure includes Bonchari MP Zebedayo Opore and his Kitutu Chache North counterpart Jimmy Angwenyi.

Obure, who ditched ODM party for Jubilee, was accused by local leadership of trying to influence the outcome of elections by using unscrupulous means.
