Real Madrid and Portugal skipper Cristiano Ronaldo was named the best player in Europe for the second year in a row on Thursday night at Monaco.
A night when the Uefa Champions league draw was taking place, Cristiano beat fellow contenders Gareth Bale (Wales and real Madrid) and Antoinne Griezman (France and Athetico Madrid).
Lionel Messi was nowhere this time round, with the top three only coming from Madrid.
Ronaldo led Real Madrid to Champions league glory last season, before playing a pivotal role to see Portugal emerge top in the European competition.
