CORD leader Raila Odinga received a backlash in Amani National Congress party leader Musalia Mudavadi's home turf of Sabatia.
Crowds of people chanted ANC while lined up along the road carrying banners urging Raila to support Mudavadi.
"Hiyo risasi moja weka kwa bunduki ya Mudavadi (Load that one bullet in Mudavadi's gun)," one banner read.
The crowds at Mudete and Mbale towns were hostile and made Raila to speak in haste, before proceeding with his tour.
On one instance, it forced Raila's guards to push away surging crowds that were chanting Mudavadi's ANC.
This was in contrast to how Raila had been received in Gisambai and Majengo markets.
Raila who tried to woo the crowd could not succeed especially at Mudete where the crowd became even more rowdy.
The Cord leader had just opened an ODM Sabatia branch office along Chavakali-Kapsabet road.
"Rudishia mkono Mudavadi na Waluhya (Return the favour to Mudavadi and the Luhya)," another placard read.
