For five years now, embattled Kenyan businessman Don Bosco Gichana maintains his continued seclusion in a Tanzanian jail, is an act of 'oppression and impunity' even as calls to have him released intensify.
His cry justice, is a story of 'so near but yet far', having been released for a couple times, only to be rearrested minutes later under unclear circumstances.
And this Easter, Bosco, a renown entity within Kenyan political cycles, accused his oppressors for not ceding ground.
"I am fighting along with you in trenches. This is a war, a war of egos oppressor and the oppressed don't want to cede ground. It is sad that a man takes another man's freedom.
"My last five years have been something, it is both physical and mental torture. Physically, they have won, spiritually, I can't let them. I am hopeful that I will be free through your prayers," he said.
Even more fascinating is that, Bosco, has before enjoyed close relationship with Raila Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto.
In fact, he is credited for donating a modern Hammer to Raila during 2007 campaigns, that literally led to Raila being labelled 'Nyundo'.
And this Friday, a host of Kisii and Nyamira residents, will stage protests across the country, in the final bid to rescue Gichana, who is accused of money laundering and fraud.
