According to Business Daily, African Leadership Excellence Award East Africa’s head, Joseph Akuboh said that Adan was awarded for his vast ‘experience’ that has positioned Kenya as a trade and investment destination in the region.

“Mr. Mohamed was adjudged the winner for his wealth of experience which has strategically positioned Kenya as a trade hub and investment destination of choice for investors across the globe,” Akuboh said.

He further said that the CS role had made Kenya acquire influence in Africa in terms of investment.

“Undoubtedly, Kenya growing industrial influence and position in Africa and the world as an investment destination is partly resultant of Cs Mohamed’s executed mandate,” Akuboh added.

“As exemplified by UK’s recent partnership renewal with Africa, trade and investment focused countries will play a significant role to Britain’s post Brexit future,” he said referring to the reason why Britain has renewed its agenda o Africa.

Other recipients of the award include former presidents: Jakaya Kikwete (Tanzania), John Kufuor (Ghana), Hifikepunye Pohamba (Namibia) and Ellen Johnson (Liberia)
