Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohammed has shared her continent's vision in the event she gets elected as Africa Union's Chair ahead of the January election.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Thursday, Amina pledged to realign the continent into a 'dynamic, sustainable, versatile and responsive platform', further noting that she would champion for peace and security across Africa for sustainable development.
"I will quickly move to implement the long- standing capacity-building recommendations that have been made in order to secure an efficient, transparent and more accountable management at the Commission," She said.
"I will passionately pursue the promise of Africa's desire for peace and security by promoting the ideals of democracy and the rule of law," she added.
Amina prides herself with a vast experience in the public service spanning to 29 years, serving in senior diplomatic positions. She is set to battle it out with with former Ugandan vice president Specioza Kazibwe, the Equatorial Guinea Foreign Minister Agapito Mokuy and his counterpart from Botswana, Pelonomi Moitoi.
Elections are scheduled for January 30-31, 2017, at the AU Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
